SRINAGAR: Activists of women's separatist group Dukhtaran-e-Millat on Saturday ransacked another house in Bemina in Srinagar, protesting against what they believed to be another nerve-centre of the massive sex racket, involving senior politicians and bureaucrats. On Friday they had razed a building belonging to Sabina, whom Millat activists describe as a pimp, at Srinagar's Habba Kadal area.
Like the Habba Kadal building, they alleged that the house at Bemina was being used to run the sex racket.
"We have exposed another house at Bemina in Srinagar which was used for the sex racket. We recovered large quantity of banned drugs and condoms from the house belonging to Shakeela, a personal security officer in the police department," Millat chief Asyia Anderabi told TOI.Meanwhile, students of Kashmir University and National Institute of Technology (NIT) boycotted classes and held demonstrations demanding disclosure of names involved in the sex scandal. Sources said Millat activists went inside the campuses and instigated the students. Police lobbed teargas shells and resorted to lathicharge to control the students as they tried to take out processions from their respective campuses.Anderabi claimed Millat activists, who broke open the door of the house at Usmanabad in Bemina, recovered a diary which had names and contact numbers of politicians, bureaucrats and police officials including a DIG.She, however, refused to hand over the diary to the cops , saying she had no faith in Jammu and Kashmir Police. She alleged that J&K police officials were also involved in the racket. Police denied having any information about the Bemina house being used for the scandal.Reports from Sopore in north Kashmir said people tried to take out a procession in the morning but the local police dispersed them.Meanwhile, a CBI team arrived here on Saturday to investigate the racket after the state government issued a notification to this effect on Friday.Police have so far arrested five persons including Sabina, the alleged kingpin of the racket and also accused of preparing and selling pornographic CDs involving minor girls.
